Union Bank’s gesture

New Delhi, Oct. 6

Union Bank of India has contributed Rs 1.25 crore to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. This contribution would be used for providing succour and relief to the flood affected people in the States of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. A cheque for the amount was handed over to the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, by the Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, Mr M.V. Nair, here on Monday. While the bank contributed Rs 25 lakh, the employees of the bank do nated a day’s salary amounting to Rs 1 crore.
