Outlook LVMH Watch to focus on advertising, build Tag Heuer brand
Actor and Tag Heuer brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra, along with Mr Philippe Pascal, President, LVMH Watch and Jewellery International in Bangalore. Our Bureau Bangalore, Oct. 7 Luxury watch brand Tag Heuer is looking at qualitative development than a quantitative one. To achieve that, LVMH Watch & Jewellery International plans to allocate a key part of its investment to focus on advertising and building the brand in India. “More than 50 per cent of our marketing spend would go towards advertising,” said Mr Philippe Pascal, President, LVMH Watch & Jewellery International. “Our plan is not to open too many stores, but the best possible stores,” Mr Pascal said at the launch of Tag Heuer’s first boutique in Bangalore at The Collection, UB City, the luxury retail mall. The company plans to double the size of the brand in India in the next three years. “The year 2008 has seen a very good momentum,” Mr Pascal said. The brand averages a 50 per cent growth year on year, he added. According to him, India would be a much bigger market for luxury watches in the years to come. “We would open stores depending on the right opportunities. Right now, retail infrastructure is scarce here,” he said. The company was following the retail developments in India and it “would support the best projects here”, Mr Pascal said. The day also saw the inauguration of Tag Heuer’s Motor Racing Heritage exhibition. More Stories on : Outlook | Watches & Accessories
