Trumpf (India) opens customer solutions unit

Pune, Oct. 7 Trumpf (India) Pvt Ltd has opened its first customer solutions centre at Hinjewadi. The facility, equipped with punching, laser and press brake machines to enable hands-on experience combined with training and seminar rooms, was inaugurated by Mr Peter Leibinger, Vice-Chairman, Trumpf Group.

The greenfield facility, built at an estimated cost of $4.5 million, is designed to assist new and existing customers to achieve a higher level of engineering and quality to become more competitive in the local and global market.

Trumpf (India) is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Trumpf International Beteiligungs-GmbH and Trumpf Finance GmbH. “It should cross a turnover of $30 million in 2008-09. In the next five years, we expect to reach a turnover of $ 45 million,” Mr Scott Simpson, Managing Director, said. He added that the new customer solutions centre will significantly increase the company’s growth in the face of strong demand for the latest technologies in India.

The Trumpf group has a presence in over 50 countries and had sales of €2.14 billion during the previous fiscal. The number of employees exceeded the 8,000 mark for the first time in company history.
