Elecon Engg bags Rs 52-cr orders

Ahmedabad, Oct. 9 Elecon Engineering Company Ltd, a major manufacturer of material handling equipments, industrial gears and transmission products, has secured three orders worth Rs 51.74 crore from Techpro Systems, Chennai and SAIL- Durgapur Steel Plant, Durgapur.

The work involves design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, supplying, erecting and commissioning of material handling and other equipments.

The company said that the first order worth Rs 15.50 crore is from Techpro Systems for supply of equipment for iron ore mines project.

The second order has been awarded by SAIL-Durgapur Steel Plant for Rs 14.45 crore for supply of equipment of upgradation of processes and the third order for Rs 21.78 crore, is also from the same Durgapur plant for an expansion project.

Mr Prayasvin Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Elecon Engineering, said the company had orders worth Rs 587 crore till August.
