Human Resources Bharat Forge, IIT-B ink pact Pune, Oct. 10 Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the $2.4-billion Kalyani Group and supplier to the automotive and capital goods industry, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) for creation of an M.Tech Programme for its employees. The two-year full time M.Tech (Materials, Manufacturing and Modelling) Programme would be designed as per the BFL requirement, to develop the research and development capabilities of its available human resources. The first batch will commence in July 2009. During the first year of the programme, employees of BFL will be deputed to IIT-B for classroom training on a full time basis, while during the second year the employees would do their project, jointly at BFL and IIT-B. As a part of the initiative, Bharat Forge has tied up with Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani for B.S. (Manufacturing Engineering) and Warwick University for M.SC in Engineering Business Management. “With the IIT-B LoI now in place, it would provide learning opportunities to our employees, at all levels,” Mr Baba N.
