Agricultural Policy States - Kerala Kerala Cabinet okays organic farming policy Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 15 The Kerala Cabinet has approved the organic farming policy prepared by the State Bio-diversity Board. The Chief Minister, Mr. V.S. Achuthanandan, told newspersons after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that a general council with the Chief Minister as Chairman and an executive council headed by the State Agriculture Minister would be formed to work out the modalities for implementing the policy. The Cabinet has also decided to entrust the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) to study the impact of the ongoing global financial crisis on the State’s economy. CDS is expected to submit the study report within 15 days. The Chief Minister said that a programme namely ‘Bhoomi Keralam’ would be launched to speed up the ongoing re-survey of land in the State. The survey, being conducted with the help of satellite facilities, will be completed within three years. The survey will get Central assistance, he said.
