Calsoft centre for Ixia

Bangalore, Oct. 15

California Software Co Ltd, a product engineering and enterprise solutions company, said it would invest $1 million to set up an Ixia Centre of Excellence in Chennai together with Ixia, a provider of performance test systems for IP-based infrastructures and services, to develop solutions for the global market.

The centre would be an R&D lab that would be equipped with Ixia IP test hardware and applications and be staffed with 100 California Software engineers over the next 12 months, the companies said in a statement.

Mr Sam Santhosh, Chief Executive and Managing Director, California software said they had already built a team of 30 engineers. When asked about the total investment in the centre, Mr Santhosh said it would be difficult to put a value to the total investments. Ixia would also be investing in the centre.

Mr Santhosh said the deal would provide them with committed business over the next five years and open a new business segment centring on Ixia.

Ixia also said it has launched an executive briefing centre and proof-of-concept lab, iSimCity, in Bangalore, which is aimed at serving the growing telecom R&D presence in India. —
