Ravi Sharma quits Datacom

Our Bureau

New Delhi Oct. 15 Within seven months of joining Datacom, Mr Ravi Sharma has quit as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Mr Sharma, who had joined Datacom in March, earlier headed Alcatel’s business in India. Datacom recently got licences to offer mobile services across the country. The company is expected to launch services in December.

Mr Sharma’s exit adds to the troubles of Datacom whose promoters have been fighting over the company’s valuation. While a majority of the stake in the company is held by Videocon, about 36 per cent stake is owned by HFCL’s Chairman, Mr Mahendra Nahata.

When contacted, Mr Sharma said that he had put in his papers due to personal reasons. He did not comment on his future plans.
