Satyam chief tells staff: Don’t worry

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 15 With the reports of economic slowdown and its likely impact on the IT industry spreading fast, Mr Ramalinga Raju, Chairman of Satyam Computer Services, has reportedly written an e-mail to his staff – telling them all would be well soon and that there was no need to get panicky. “We have faced similar situation after the 9/11 incident (when planes hijacked by terrorists destroyed the Twin Towers of World Trade Centre). I am sure that we could overcome the present crisis too,” he reportedly said in the letter.

Mr Raju had asked his employees to “work hard and face the challenge together” to tide over the trying times. Stating that the company could perform well notwithstanding the global slowdown, he said the employees need to work harder to achieve the targets. The letter also left an underlining message that the employees need not worry about the slowdown.

Mr Raju also drew attention to the de-risking undertaken in the company’s businesses, with the dependency on the US being brought down. The company is scheduled to announce the second quarter results on October 17.
