Our Bureau

Chennai, Oct. 15 Indi Shopee Pvt Ltd, a company promoted by a member of the promoter family of the Pioneer group of companies, is to launch its first retail outlet Indi in Chennai on October 18. Says Mr Sarath Kakumanu, Managing Director of the company, the ‘value store’, spread over one lakh sq.ft. will offer lifestyle products, apparels, assorted home needs, consumer electronics and appliances, footwear, furniture, gift articles and a food court.

To start with, in addition to products from all leading brands, the store will also have private labels in the apparels section. However, the idea is to introduce private labels in every possible category over a period, he said.

“We have put in an efficient back-end team, roped in from various major retailers, to offer our customers good value for money,” says Mr Kakumanu.

According to him, apart from value-for-money offerings, plush and convenient interiors and ample parking facility will be Indi’s key strengths.
