Bell Helicopter sees growing interest for its models

Hyderabad, Oct. 15 Bell Helicopter is upbeat on the potential for copters in both civil and defence sectors, the latter for surveillance in India.

The company specifically cited growing interest for their models in the corporate sector, oil and gas exploration and defence applications.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the company unveiled its new 429 model in India at the India Civil Aviation 2008 event being held here.

The company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Richard Millman, said “Bell sees great potential for the helicopter market in India and expects to bring in more models which have captured the imagination of other markets.”

The Senior Vice-President of Bell Helicopter, Mr Bob Fitzpatrick, told newspersons that the market for copters, which was about 450 aircraft valued at about $2.5 billion two years ago, has grown to about $5 billion with the total of 1,000 commercial hovercraft.
