Clouds pile up over the Arabian Sea off the Thiruvananthapuram coast on Thursday evening as the northeast monsoon descends on the Indian peninsula after the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon. The India Meteorology Department announced the arrival of the northeast monsoon on Wednesday.
