Promotions & Offers Sony India’s festive season offer Our Bureau Chennai, Oct. 16 Sony India, which has intensified its advertising and marketing activity in the country for the last couple of years, is focusing on four products for the festive season this year, hoping to create awareness of new technology in an exciting way. Speaking to Business Line, Mr Cyril Mani, Head (Marketing Communications), Sony India, said the campaigns (for the Bravia full HDTV, the Vaio notebook computer, the Handycam and the Cybershot) were designed to talk to consumers in a way that is emotionally appealing as well as give them a rationale to choose these products. Most of the campaigns are using television, print and outdoors. Focus on advertising“In the last 2-3 years, we have been more visible and impactful in the market,” said Mr Mani, adding that the company has deliberately focused on advertising and marketing and ensured that the value proposition and brand image is effectively conveyed. The company’s growing at 25-30 per cent now and wants to sustain this growth, he said. Promotional offerFor this festive season, the company has a promotional offer called ‘Bond With Sony’ going on, based on the new Bond film Quantum of Solace. The grand prize on offer for 10 couples, through a lucky draw, is an all-expenses paid business-class trip to the Sony Pictures studio in Hollywood. Apart from this, 50 Vaio notebooks and 100 Sony Ericsson mobile phones with Bond applications as well as a twin DVD set containing exclusive footage from Quantum of Solace and the DVD of Casino Royale, the previous Bond film which was released a couple of years ago, will be given away. On whether he expected the slowdown in the economy to affect the festive season sales, Mr Mani said it was too early to say, but that it was unlikely.
