Pune, Oct. 17 Zensar Technologies, a player in the IT and BPO space, has recorded a revenue of Rs 232.82 crore for the quarter ended September 2008, as against Rs 191.84 crore for the corresponding quarter last year — a 21-per cent increase.

Net income stood at Rs 18.56 crore as compared to Rs 14.15 crore for the corresponding period last year and EPS stood at Rs 7.74, up from Rs 5.91, a 31 per cent year-on-year increase.

Talking to Business Line, Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, said about 18 per cent in the revenue growth had come from real volume growth while the three per cent had come from dollar increase and exchange rates.

He said the company recorded a net income of Rs 43 crore in the first half, in line with the guidance report.

Mr S. Balasubramaniam, Chief Financial Officer, said the management was confident of achieving its guidance of profit after tax of Rs 85 crore despite challenging times. He noted that there had been a decrease in net income for the second quarter as compared to the first quarter of the current fiscal due to exceptional items.

New Businesses

Dr Natarajan noted that the new businesses of infrastructure management and software testing were promising and the company hoped to grow these businesses to $100 million by 2010-11.

The worldwide testing market is around $13 billion and showing a yearly growth of 30 to 40 per cent. Zensar, he said, was making investments in test automation, shared services and security testing.
