E&Y India launches policy advisory group

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct 17 Ernst & Young India, a professional services firm, has announced the launch of a Policy Advisory Group. This Group would advise clients across industries, governments and industry associations focusing on taxation, international trade, aviation, defence, trade and commerce, finance and capital markets and power.

Mr Ganesh Raj, Mr Satya Poddar, Mr Utkarsh Palnitkar and Mr Ahvin Parekh will lead the initiative for Ernst & Young India. All the four are partners who lead various strategic business units in the firm.

Ernst & Young India has had prior experience in dealing with policy issues, both as external advisors to the private and public sectors and as advisors for government and regulatory bodies. The launch of a separate specialised group would enable it to centralise its talent pool and offer innovative solutions in policy conceptualisation and development, said Ernst & Young India officials. To start with, the Policy Advisory Group has taken up the issue of direct taxation and suggested the creation of a dispute resolution panel for faster settlement of disputes.
