The Hindu Business Line : KPIT Cummins in pact with VaST

Pune, Oct 19 VaST, a player in electronics virtualisation, and KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd, product engineering partner to the automotive industry, have announced a partnership to deliver electronic virtualisation tools and specialised services to global automotive OEMs, and Tier-1 suppliers and ODMs.

According to an official release, automobiles were being increasingly differentiated through software content and electronics, which required improved methods for designing software-rich systems.

The partnership between VaST and KPIT focuses on methodology adoption services that speed up the deployment of advanced virtual prototyping tools and methodologies such as networked ECU Virtual-Hardware-In-the-Loop simulations.

Electronic virtualisation is highly effective in reducing engineering costs while simultaneously enabling improved end-system software quality, the release stated.

“With increasing complexity, the hardware and software development cycles are getting stretched for our customers. By collaborating with VaST, we will provide simulation models for peripheral functions and microcontrollers that enable development of software on virtual platforms. This will provide added value to our customers by reducing their software development cycle time,” Mr Kishor Patil, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, KPIT Cummins, said.
