Our Bureau Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 21

There is a need for improving consulting business in view of huge global opportunity, according to the former President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Delivering the 14th convocation address at Siva Sivani Institute of Management (SSIM) here on Tuesday, Mr Kalam said globally, the consulting business was about $300 billion in 2007. “India accounted only for $4.4 billion of this, and there is a need to double our share in the next five years,” he added.

The country is emerging as a knowledge hub and there is scope for consulting in every sector such as infrastructure and energy. “Management institutes such as SSIM should also network with consultants across the world,” he said.
