Sikkim CM’s plea to BRO

Sarikah Atreya

Gangtok, Oct. 21 The Chief Minister, Mr Pawan Chamling, told the Director General, Border Roads Organisation, Lt Gen A.K. Nanda, that labour employed by the BRO within the State had to be from Sikkim alone because of the employment potential involved. There should be no compromise on this, he urged. This was Lt Gen Nanda’s first visit to Sikkim.

Mr Chamling also said as the State was on a “green mission” mode, tree plantation along the road network should be taken up at the earliest and the BRO’s cooperation in this regard was important for Sikkim.
