TN to introduce e-stamping

Chennai, Oct. 24

The State Government has decided to introduce e-stamping, secure electronic system of document registration and stamp duty payment, of documents, according to an official press release.

The State Cabinet which met today decided to introduce e-stamping through Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd, the central record keeping agency identified by the Union Government.

This system will first be tried in a few offices of the sub-registrars and then expanded in stages to all the offices. Authorised collection centres will handle the process. - Our Bureau
