Plea for more coins

Madurai, Oct. 28

Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industries has made a plea to the Reserve Bank of India, Chennai Office, to enable supply of adequate quantity of coins for circulation in Madurai and the surrounding regions. Mr S. Jeyabalan, the Chamber President, in a statement said, that shortage of coins has been hampering business activities in the region. Small business concerns, hotels, petty shops and the general public are severely affected. The problem is becoming more acute as the days passed, he said.
