Our Bureau Mumbai, Oct. 28 Energy major Tata Power Ltd has reported 42 per cent increase in revenues from its license area at Rs 1,666 crore for quarter ending September 30, as compared to Rs 1,172 crore revenue achieved in the corresponding period last year. The revenue hike has been due to increase in power demand. The profit for the quarter was marginally high at Rs 261 crore as against Rs 257 crore in the corresponding period last year. The net sales for the same period increased by 45 per cent to Rs 1,958 crore due to rise in fuel prices. In the year-ago quarter, the income was Rs 1,350 crore, according to a statement issued by the company. The fuel cost for quarter shot up by 76 per cent to Rs 1,374 crore from Rs 780 crore in the year ago quarter. During the quarter, forex gain was Rs 76 crore as compared to Rs 8.96 crore.
