Websense issues alert on spam attack

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, Oct. 28 Internet security solutions company Websense is advising users to be ‘on guard’ considering the sudden increase in malicious spam attacks targeted at Web 2.0 sites.

A release from Websense said that it had on October 13 identified a social engineering spam campaign on social networking site Hi5, which was similar to the attack related to Facebook – ‘add friend’.

“The number could be small, but the malware authors have good reason for the same, for it helps keep their efforts under the radar and helps achieve their ultimate goal,” said the release.
