Cabinet nod for liberalised air services with Iran

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 31 Airlines from Iran will soon be able to operate a daily flight to Kochi and Delhi. This follows the Union Cabinet giving its approval for the signing of a new and more liberalised air services agreement (ASA) between India and Iran.

An official statement issued after the meeting of the Cabinet states that the new ASA is proposed to be signed during the forthcoming visit of the Minister for External Affairs, Mr Pranab Mukherjee.

The new agreement also allows India and Iran to designate any number of airlines to operate between the two countries.
