Natco Pharma net up 12%

Hyderabad, Nov. 1 Natco Pharma Ltd’s net profit increased 12 per cent at Rs 11.87 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2008 compared with Rs 10.57 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous financial year.

The total revenue increased 26 per cent at Rs 114 crore (Rs 90 crore), according to a release. The growth in revenue and profit was driven by growth in the formulations business, Mr Bhaskar Narayana, Vice-President (Finance), Natco Pharma told Business Line.

The earnings per share stood at Rs 4.23 (Rs 3.77). During the quarter, Natco launched Albupax, the first generic version of the international brand Abraxane, used for the treatment of breast cancer, the release added.
