Chamber holds meet with Collector

Our Bureau

Kochi, Nov. 2 The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised an interactive session with the Ernakulam District Collector, Dr M. Beena, to find out solutions for several problems in the city.

The main issues highlighted during the discussions included traffic bottlenecks, garbage disposal, need for introduction of KSRTC bus services via Kundannur connecting places in the eastern and northern parts of Kochi Corporation to places in West Kochi etc.

It was particularly pointed out to the Collector on the need to develop the West Kochi area, which is lagging behind compared with the development in other areas of the city.

The Chamber also reiterated its earlier plea for a Mattancherry Foreshore Scheme.

Dr Beena pointed out that with the commissioning of Brahmapuram plant, the City’s garbage problem could be solved to a certain extent.

ICCI President Mr Anilkumar N Prabhu and Vice-President Mr Jasbir Singh Chawla also spoke on the occasion.
