Tea Prices ease at Kochi tea sale Our Bureau Kochi Nov 3 The Kochi tea auction remained subdued as major blenders remained selective and domestic operators were reticent at the dust tea auction. Exporters operated with less strength while blenders lent useful support for good CTC varieties at the leaf tea auction. Inter-State buyers were selective while exporters did not operate at the leaf auction. There were 11.14 lakh kg of dust tea on offer which had a lower general demand and CTC grades quoted lower by Rs 4-7. Orthodox dust was steady to irregular at last weeks levels. Secondaries eased by Rs 2-4. Best CTC dust quoted Rs 90-105, medium CTC ranged at Rs 80-93 and below medium fetched Rs 75-87. High grown BOPD quoted Rs 105-124, medium BOPD was at Rs 73-75 and secondaries were at Rs 64-68. Top PricesLeaf auction had higher arrivals at 4.93 lakh kg and orthodox grades quoted lower by Rs 10-16. CTC grades were lower by Rs 3-5. Best Nilgiri varieties fetched Rs 85-105, medium orthodox quoted Rs 75-85 and plain orthodox was at Rs 70-75. Best CTC leaf fetched Rs 83-90 and medium CTC was at Rs 78-82. In the dust category Kodanad BOPD fetched the top price at Rs 124 followed by Kil Kotagiri BOPD and Pasuparai FD at Rs 115 and Pasuparai SFD at Rs 114. In the leaf segment Havukal OP fetched the top price at Rs 140 followed by Chamraj OP at Rs 138, Havukal BOPF at Rs 134 and Sutton OP at Rs 130. More Stories on : Tea
