MMTC turnover rises 86% in H1

New Delhi, Nov. 4 The country's largest trading company MMTC Ltd has registered a turnover of Rs 22,267 croreduring April- September 2008, logging a growth of 86 per cent over Rs 11,999 crore recorded during the same period the last fiscal. A company release said here on Tuesday that during the first half exports amounted to Rs 2,467 crore, imports Rs 18,235 crore and domestic trade Rs 1,565 crore, registering a growth of 46 per cent, 86 per cent and 196 per cent respectively. During the period, MMTC posted a net profit before tax of Rs 147.54 crore, up 43 per cent over the preceding year. Net profit after tax surged to Rs 100.54 crore, registering a growth of 32 per cent over Rs 76.36 crore recorded during the same period of last fiscal. - Our Bureau
