Deora in Turkmenistan

New Delhi, Nov. 4

The Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr Murli Deora, met his Turkmenistan counterpart, Mr Annaguly Deryayev, and discussed matters of mutual interest, particularly participation in and implementation of the TAPI Gas Pipeline Project and India's increased participation in exploration and production of oil and gas in Turkmenistan. The Minister also invited Mr Deryayev to participate in the two-day India-CIS Roundtable on Hydrocarbons beginning on November 25 in New Delhi. Mr Deora reiterated India's commitment to further growing ties and cooperation between India and Turkmenistan. Mentioning that India imports more than 70 per cent of its energy requirements from different countries, he underlined the country's determination to engage constructively with Turkmenistan in the hydrocarbon sphere. -Our Bureau
