Venture capital summit at Technopark


The summit aims at creating a common platform for the industry to network with leading funds

The Group of Technopark Companies (GTECH) is holding a two-day venture capital summit here with the theme ‘Financing the knowledge economy in Kerala’ on November 10 and 11.

Apart from GTECH, the summit is jointly organised by the IT Department of the State Government, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and Technopark.

The summit aims at creating a common platform for the industry, including IT, ITES, biotechnology, bioinformatics and tourism, to network with leading national and international venture capital funds, according to a statement from GTECH.

The summit will have sessions on ‘Opportunities for Kerala in the global venture capital industry’; ‘Venture capital funding in the IT/ITES industry’; and a special session on Kerala, namely, ‘The road ahead to become the country’s IT hub and a holistic view of Kerala’.

Speakers at the inaugural session will include Mr Vinay L. Deshpande, Chairman and CEO of Encore Software, and Dr Ajay Kumar, Secretary, Information Technology, Kerala Government.
