Centre for creative leadership plans India centre

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Nov. 6 The Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL) and Amitayus Consortium on Thursday announced plans to introduce their global leadership programme in south India next month.

The CCL, which has five campuses — three in the US, one in Brussels and Singapore — is in the process of finalising plans for another centre in India.

Initially, it will have an office in Pune; plans are on to identify a location for their sixth campus and the first one in India.

The course

The five-day leadership course, that comes with a fee of Rs 3.25 lakh, inducts about 24 people to be exposed to over 10 leadership trainers drawn from all over the world.

The event is being hosted at Ista Hotel in Hyderabad next month, according to Mr Narendra Rana, Managing Partner, Amitayus.

Addressing a prèss conference here on Thursday, Mr Rana said the course is a lot different from executive education programmes offered by B-Schools, where the latter offer functional learning modules.

The leadership training course is not just for managers, it could also be useful for politicians.

For instance, in the US, even Army men take this up, Mr Rana said.

‘Transformational’

As someone who has gone through this course about 30 years ago, Mr Rana, who had earlier managed international operations of Knight Ridder Information, described the programme as a transformational one that helps managers think and work innovatively by deploying all the learning in to their day-to-day lives.

Research work

“CCL has initiated independent research works on management approach followed in India, China and Singapore to analyse how and why they are different from what managers practice in the West.

“The details of this study will be unveiled shortly. The work on India and Singapore is completed, and we expect to close the China study too shortly,” Mr Rana said.
