Aurobindo depression drug gets nod


Hyderabad, Nov. 7

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Sertraline Hydrocholride oral concentrate in 20 mg. The drug is the generic equivalent of Pfizer’s Zoloft oral concentrate. It is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults. The approval was the 82nd abbreviated new drug approval for the Hyderabad-based company, according to a release.
