BEML declares 65% final dividend

Bangalore, Nov. 7 BEML Ltd has declared 65 per cent final dividend for the financial year 2007-08 in addition to the interim dividend of 55 per cent it paid during March 2008.

The total dividend amounts to 120 per cent or Rs 12 a share, a release said.

The mining equipment and rail coach major under the Ministry of Defence expects to post 2008-09 sales turnover of Rs 3,100 crore compared to Rs 2,713 crore during the previous fiscal, it said. The order book at the end of October 2008 stood at its highest figure to date of Rs 4,292 crore.

BEML’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V.R.S. Natarajan, presented the dividend warrant of Rs 14.62 crore to the Defence Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, in New Delhi on Friday, the release said.

The dividend is against the 54.03 per cent share capital held by the Government in the company. With this, BEML has paid a total of Rs 27 crore to the Government for 2007-08. The Secretary of Defence Production, Mr Pradeep Kumar, and the Joint Secretary, Exports, MoD, Mr Satyajit Rajan, were present.
