Debt waiver: Nabard clears funds for Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 7 The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has released the second instalment of Rs 89.06 crore to cooperative and regional rural banks in Kerala under Agricultural Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, 2008, of the Centre.

A cumulative amount of Rs 831.21 crore has so far been released, according to Mr Bhawar Puri, Chief General Manager, Kerala Region, Nabard. Out of the Rs 89.06 crore now released, Rs 55.64 crore is to Kerala State Cooperative Bank Ltd), Rs 11.66 crore to Kerala State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, Rs 12.01 crore to North Malabar Gramin Bank, and Rs 9.75 crore to South Malabar Gramin Bank.
