BHEL R&D unit has new Executive Director

Hyderabad, Nov. 6. Dr A.L. Chandraker, Group General Manager of BHEL’s Corporate R&D Division, has been elevated to the Executive Director with effect from November 6.

Dr Chandraker joined BHEL’s Corporate R&D Division as Senior Engineer in 1978. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Group in 1991. He rose to the position of General Manager in 2002, with additional charge of the Turbomachinery Group.

He took charge of the Corporate R&D Division as Group General Manager on March 25, 2008, according to a press release.

Dr Chandraker has the distinction of holding five US patents granted for design of new type of steam turbine and hydro turbine blades.
