BEL pays 147% final dividend

Bangalore, Nov. 7

Bharat Electronics Ltd has paid its highest ever dividend of 207 per cent (or Rs 20.7 a share) for 2007-08. It said the Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V.V.R. Sastry, presented the final dividend cheque of 147 per cent or Rs 89.2 crore to the Defence Minister in New Delhi on Friday. In February this year, the company paid Rs 36.41 crore as 60 per cent interim dividend for 2007-08. The defence PSU recorded a turnover of Rs 4,102 crore and profit after tax of Rs 826.74 cr ore for 2007-08. —
