Shortage of funds

This is with reference to the article “A shortage of funds” (Business Line, November 10.) While we can debate at length as to whether farm waivers really help the needy, I think we should not be against bailing out the agricultural sector just as the way we are not against bailing out the financial institutions or any other industry for that matter.

There are occasions when the Government has to step in and clean the mess created by the excesses of various institutions of society.
