New Products & Services Variety - Entertainment & Leisure Sathyam Cinemas unveils gaming zone Our Bureau Chennai, Nov. 10 With an investment of Rs 10 crore, the Chennai-based Sathyam Cinemas has unveiled a new gaming zone spread across 15,000 sq ft at the cinema’s complex in the heart of the city. Called Blur, the zone, over three floors, features gaming on several different platforms; from PCs to hand-helds such as the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS Lite to Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360. The gaming centre has an entire floor dedicated to arcade games, a two-lane gaming alley, a 42-seater restaurant, a gaming store with the latest software and hardware and food counters on each floor. According to Sathyam Cinemas’ COO, Mr Tan Ngaronga, Blur, will have a broad appeal to many market segments and something for everyone to occupy their time. “We have focused on family entertainment which includes different gaming concepts and great food,” he said at the launch of Blur. A host of events have been planned at Blur in the future, including tournaments, game launches, gaming parties, theme weeks and industry interactions.
