Hinduja Foundries cuts work days

Chennai, Nov. 12

Chennai-based Hinduja Foundries (formerly, Ennore Foundries Ltd) on Wednesday announced reduction in its working days. A press release from the company says that due to drop in demand of commercial vehicles, tractors and passenger cars, off-take of castings dipped drastically over the past few weeks. “Based on the inventory built and power situation in Tamil Nadu, Hinduja Foundries decided to observe continuous production holidays for five days, in addition to normal weekly holidays, at its Ennore and Sriperumbudur units. The Hyderabad unit will work for five days instead of six. These measures will continue till the situation improves,” the release says.
