Our Bureau New Delhi, Nov. 13 Bharti Airtel has extended its partnership with VeriSign by launching identity protection services for enterprise customers in the country. The VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) solution comprises a suite of authentication and fraud detection services that claim to change the way commercial transactions are done on the Web, by enabling enterprises to protect their consumers’ identities. “In the face of recent cases of phishing and identity theft, more businesses than ever are seeing online/digital security as the key driver to attract and grow relationships with their customers,” said Mr Shekhar Kirani, Vice-President, VeriSign India. “This partnership combines the globally trusted VeriSign brand and its VIP Services with Bharti Airtel’s strong in-country reach, support and expertise.” said Mr Jai Menon, Director, Customer Service & It, Bharti Airtel. Mr David Nishball, President, Enterprise Services, Bharti Airtel, said that users were provided a hardware token that generates security code for authentication. When a user presses the button on a token, a security code appears on the hardware token display which authenticates the users’ resources.
