Tea CTC grades see export enquiry at Kochi auction Our Bureau Kochi, Nov. 14 The Kochi tea auction opened weak but gained strength as the auction progressed. In the dust segment, blenders operated on good liquoring CTC varieties, while fair amount of export enquiry was evident on bolder CTC varieties. At the leaf auction, exporters were selective in orthodox grades, while CTC grades witnessed enquiry from exporters and interstate buyers. There was 12,35,000 kg of dust tea on offer and prices of good CTC varieties were steady, medium CTC eased by Rs 5 while plainer CTC were lower by Rs 8. Orthodox high grown dust was steady to dearer while medium orthodox remained steady. Best CTC varieties quoted Rs 83-95, medium CTC was at Rs 72-82 and below medium fetched Rs 65-70. High grown BOPD ranged at Rs 100-113 while medium BOPD was at Rs 57-65. Leaf SaleThere was 5,25,000 kg of leaf tea on offer. High grown orthodox grades were lower by Rs 5-7, medium orthodox fell by Rs 10. High priced CTC eased. Best Nilgiri varieties fetched Rs 75-90, medium orthodox was at Rs 60-70 and plain orthodox fetched Rs 55-58. More Stories on : Tea
