Alliances & Joint Ventures Unitek, Borri to set up plant for power tools Borri will have a stake in Unitek and the for this modalities are being worked out. Our Bureau Kochi, Nov. 14 Kerala-based Unitek Power Solutions and European power equipment maker Borri is jointly setting up a Rs 30-crore manufacturing plant at Ernakulam district to cater to Indian and overseas markets. Mr Fausto Beoni, Managing Director, Borri, and Mr John Zachariah, Managing Director, Unitek Power Solutions, said at a press meet that the foundation of the new factory will be laid on Saturday and it will commence operations in a year. Once the new manufacturing unit is set up, it would be possible for the company to produce and market power equipment of the highest quality matching international standards, they said. They pointed out that the new manufacturing unit will be a blessing for the Indian industry as the domestic players will get quality products in a time. Borri will be having a stake in Unitek and the modalities are being worked out. Unitek and Borri have been working together for more than a year and have made deep inroads into the Indian market. Their products have reached various industrial establishments and are used by marine applications, textile units, hospitals and oil field, among others.
