The event organised by the School of Management, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore in association with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and Business Line as the Media Partner, took place at the Residency on Thursday. The organisers received 52 business plans from various B-Schools across the country, short-listed six proposals for final presentation to the jury comprising Prof. K. Kumar, Chairperson, Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, IIM-B, Mr Raghu Rajagopal, Angel Investor, Chennai and Mr K. Sureshkumar, Manager, PSG-STEP, Coimbatore. Later, addressing the participants, Mr Kumar said such events were aimed to benefit students, especially because entrepreneurship was relatively new within business management and as a discipline, was finding great acceptability. “Nothing can provide the capability as entrepreneurship skill does,” he said and admitted that the entrepreneurial framework conditions were still weak in the country, with acceptance of just 4 out of the 14 framework. “The opportunities though are tremendous with deregulation, liberalisation, and globalisation of business,” he added.
