Spot rubber prices decline

Kottayam, Nov. 15 Physical rubber rates surrendered on Saturday. According to observers moderate selling from dealers and growers following fears on further fall in prices kept the domestic rubber under pressure during the day. Sheet rubber declined to Rs 81 from Rs 82.50 a kg on the previous trading session. The market made all-round declines amidst buyer resistance. RSS 4 which opened at Rs 85.50 a kg on Monday fell heavily by Rs 4.50 a kg during the week mainly on buyer resistance. In international futures, the September contract for RSS 3 on the Tokyo Commodity exchange which closed at ¥177.3 a kg on Monday last finished sharply lower at ¥164.5 in the weekend session. But grade’s spot was marginally firm at Rs 89.70 (88.22) a kg at Bangkok.

Spot rates were: RSS-4: 81 (82.50); RSS-5: 78.50 (79.50); ungraded: 74 (75.75); ISNR 20: 78 (80) and latex 60 per cent: 57 (57.50).
