Work in full swing: The 1,15,000-sq-ft underground car park project in front of the Writers Building, estimated to cost Rs 35 crore, is expected to be completed around October 2010. The West Bengal Government has planned for the biggest car-parking plaza in Kolkata, which will accommodate about 700 cars. The Public Works Department has taken the charge of constructing the two-storeyed parking plaza without damaging the existing tank Lal Dighi. —
