Supply Chain Management Corporate - New Projects States - Maharashtra KSH group sets up ICD at Talegaon Our Bureau Pune, Nov. 18 The Pune-based KSH group has made a foray into the logistics infrastructure space and set up a modern inland container depot (ICD) at Talegaon. The company, which is engaged in manufacturing, auto parts servicing and distribution, has invested Rs 40 crore in the new venture KSH Distriparks. Amongst the features of the 30-acre KSH Distriparks ICD is a 15-m high warehouse with an area of one lakh sq ft, and a yard to store 2,000 containers. The ICD is equipped with modern material handling equipment to ensure quicker turnaround of containers and cargo. Other featuresAlso available is office space, conference rooms, training centres and cafeteria suitable for logistic companies, freight forwarders, shipping companies and airlines clearing companies. A 13-member team of the Customs Department is present at the site. And the services offered by KSH Distriparks ICD include clearance of import/export cargo containers, an air cargo LCL hub and bonded warehouses. Expansion plans for the ICD that will be set in motion in the first quarter of 2009 involve an additional outlay of Rs 60 crore, Mr Kushal Hegde, Chairman, KSH group, said.
