Our Bureau

Bangalore, Nov. 19 Kingfisher Airlines’ non-Executive Director and Vice-Chairman, Capt. G.R. Gopinath, during the past fortnight has been slowly offloading his stake in the airline reducing his total stake to about 4.6 per cent from a little over 5 per cent.

In a notice to the National Stock Exchange, the airline has said that between November 5 and November 11, Capt. Gopinath has offloaded his stake in small tranches ranging between 43,000 shares and 2,80,320 shares.

Sources close to the airline said that Capt. Gopinath has entrusted most of his investment portfolio to a fund manager who have been carrying out the exercise. They said that the fund manager might be trying to mop up some funds for Capt. Gopinath’s ambitious logistics’ project.

The number of shares of Capt. Gopinath which are locked in are 97,01,920 shares or 3.65 per cent of the total shares. Capt. Gopinath could not be reached for details of his investment.
