Engineering Five-fold rise in Triveni Engg’s July-Sept net
Our Bureau New Delhi, Nov. 20 Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd has reported a 439.2 per cent jump in profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended September 2008 over the corresponding period of last year. The company recorded a PAT of Rs 26.96 crore on net sales of Rs 427.14 crore for the latest quarter, against Rs 5 crore and Rs 304.18 crore respectively for July-September 2007. Triveni’s net sales from sugar business (including co-generation and distillery) rose from Rs 176.14 crore during July-September 2007 to Rs 261.16 crore during July-September 2008, while the same from engineering (steam turbines, gears, water) went up from Rs 136.88 crore to Rs 178.14 crore. Correspondingly, profit before tax and interest on sugar increased from Rs (-) 0.50 crore to Rs 23.90 crore, while that from engineering rose from Rs 33.45 crore to Rs 40.98 crore. For the 12-months financial year ended September 30, 2008, the company earned a consolidated PAT of Rs 121.98 crore on net sales of Rs 1,618.70 crore. This was against the PAT of Rs 68.09 crore on net sales of Rs 1,928.47 crore for the 18-months period ended September 30, 2007. More Stories on : Engineering
