FICCI, ASQ tie up to train firms in quality

New Delhi, Nov. 20

The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has entered into a 50:50 joint venture with American Society for Quality (ASQ), a company dealing with organisational excellence and quality.

“The alliance will herald a new era in the history of quality movement in India,” said Mr Paul Borawski, Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer, ASQ. The new entity FICCI-ASQ Foundation for Innovation and Excellence would serve as a resource hub for the Asia-Pacific region, West Asia and South Asia.

The management team of the joint venture would comprise a chief executive and six board of directors. In India, it would help in creating an internationally recognised institutions to facilitate the adoption of global best practices in quality, said Dr Amit Mitra, Secretary General, FICCI.
