Our Bureau Ahmedabad, Nov. 20 IndiGo, the largest low-fare airline in India having a 13 per cent market share in the country, will fight the global economic slowdown blues by offering improved, value-for-money service, instead of resorting to measures like a cut in workforce or salaries. Newer routes would be added on demand, said an official. The company, which is in an expansion mode and acquiring its nineteenth aircraft, an Airbus 320, next month, has no plans to lay off any of the 2,100 employees nor send them on leave without pay. “In fact, we are hiring new staff at present,” said Mr Aditya Ghosh, President. Its offerIndiGo’s major workforce is Indian but it also has expatriate pilots, he said. What we are offering, he said, is a clean, dot-on-time service, affordable fare and a hassle-free experience. Our on-time performance is 94 per cent.
