Avesthagen diabetes IP worth $470 m

Bangalore, Nov. 20

Avesthagen Ltd said its intellectual property portfolio for diabetes management has been valued at an average of $470 million (over Rs 2000 crore) by a leading global life sciences analyst. Dr Villoo Morawala Patell, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Avesthagen, said, “This evaluation positions us strongly in the market and the compounds that we are developing will prevent and provide relief to diabetics across the world.” In the near future, this IP wi ll find application in three market segments – functional foods, dietary supplements and nutraceuticals – areas on which the company is focussing, according to an Avesthagen release.
